Blueberry and plum aromas mingle with a hint of cranberry and wild berry. The wild berry continues onto the palate with cassis and a hint of vanilla from the oak aging. A full bodied wine with a lingering finish and fine smooth tannins, our 2013 Reserve is a blend of 44% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot.
Made only in the best of vintages, our 2013 Reserve showcases the best of what the North Fork of Long Island has to offer. The 2013 growing season was warm and dry, a long dry summer was followed with no rain during the harvest season of September and October, resulting in next to perfect growing conditions allowing ample time for the fruit to fully ripen on the vine. The fruit spent 2 weeks in contact with skins using the punchdown method to extract color and tannins and was aged for 18 months in Hungarian oak.
